The SOLERA PROJECT is an interdisciplinary program designed to enhance the quality of life for people living with disabilities by providing skills-based training and employment opportunities. The Tenacious Spirit of Servitude will be practiced, and we hope that it will be infectious to those that we help, so that it may be paid forward to those who lack the resources.
The team behind the program has close ties within the disability community throughout NYC, and we plan to utilize our experiences and location to offer enriched programs that will enhance the quality of life for people living with disabilities. Everyone deserves the right to eat well and to be provided with love, care, and support.
Classes at the SOLERA PROJECT will be led by some of the most respected and dynamic personalities in the hospitality industry, including guest appearances from top chefs, restaurateurs, and sommeliers, many of whom have overcome disabilities themselves, including:
Through the SOLERA PROJECT, our goal is to provide the disabled community with the right tools, foundational experiences and education to succeed in the hospitality industry.
Our classes will focus on nutrition, learning how to cook with a disability, and preparing food on a fixed income. Our initiative will also feature sustainable farm-to-table cuisine by using both local and organic ingredients from our neighborhood farmer’s market.
